Botticelli’s Venus

my reimagining of Sandro Botticelli’s masterpiece, The Birth of Venus, created in Italian glass and 24k gold smalti in tinted mortar.

This piece was recently included in Recreating the Masters Exhibition at Mooresville Arts and
Winter Juried Exhibition of The Guild of Charlotte Artists, where the judge wrote:

“The way the artist accomplished dimension while working in mosaic is amazing! The color variation in the hair and skin are a wild success.”
