Two mosaic church floors at Umm Ar-Rasas
The Church of the Lion late 6th century AD
Named for the lions depicted in the mosaic floor. The guard pulled back the covering tarp to let us walk on the floor and see the lions up close.
The Church of Saint Stephen 718AD, with some restoration 785AD
This incredible mosaic floor contains depiction sof many ancient cities, with those in the left border being cities west of the Dead Sea, and the cities east of the Dead Sea in the right border.
