Mosaic Scarves

Mosaics for Afghan Women

Permanently installed in the headquarters of the
World Bank in Washington, DC.

This collaborative project was the brainchild of mosaic artists Kim Wozniak, Bonnie Fitzgerald, and Gertrude Muller to bring awareness to the plight of Taliban oppression of Afghan women. Over 1200 artists from 46 countries have participated in creating these mosaic “scarves” installations which can be found in multiple countries around the world.

The scarves installation in Washington DC includes works of 90 mosaic artists from the US and Canada. My small contribution can be seen in the 2nd scarf from the right.
