Tide Pool 2
Framed mosaic art inspired by tide pools among a rocky beach in South Africa. This small mosaic is created using the centuries-old method of cutting tiny pieces of Italian smalti glass with a hammer and hardie, and setting those pieces (tesserae) into wet mortar. Here I have enhanced the piece with northern California mariposite, marble, ceramic tiles, and stunning agate slices. Framed in a rustic, white-washed wood frame.
