Inspired by the immense schools of Sergeant Major fish we have snorkeled alongside in the Caribbean. This mosaic piece is a detail of one fishy fellow. Created using unglazed ceramic tile set into a bed of charcoal gray grout, and employing a centuries-old reverse method technique.

The central mosaic measures 8” square. It is framed in a black-finished wood tray frame, which has an inner border of metallic ceramic “brick” tiles. The overall framed size is approximately 10.5” square, and the central motif stands out from the border approximately .5”.
